Ah! Seishun no Koushien v01 Hatsukoi Koushien v01 Part 03
Last Order raws should be en route to the raw provider (do not expect anything before mid january at least) and still no Vagabond 321 raws in sight. Now that I've taken care of this...
Merry Christmas guys (for those of you celebrating it).
I hope you've found what you wanted under your christmas tree.
Me...well, I should've found a shiny Ps4 under it, but when
the delivery man left me the big package this monday, well...
there was nothing inside it (aside from the original box, the console manuals and the useless bluetooth thing).
Yep, the package was opened, the content stolen, and then everything was closed perfectly back.
Sony can't know the console ID from the box (figured) and even if I had it, when the console
goes online it gets assigned a total different ID...and they can't figure it out from that (this is either
BS or simply unbelievable) what the physical console ID is. Basically I should've already known what is my console ID when it goes online, so they could've track it, and sent the police to that guy's house (yep, the trusted guy who sent me the package has filed a police report and a claim to the postal [dis]service. Inside there were also the bill, the pre-order forms where he bought it and all his sensible info...he even blocked his credit card to be safe).
We both have been selling and buying online for many years, not having had any problems at all.
So it didn't come to mind in the slightest to get insurance for the package. I mean, stuff always arrives...yeah, right, we should've known better that Italy is a country of thieves. What an idiot we've been :(
I hope that it's a faulty console and it bursts into a million pieces.
See you soon guys.

You might've heard on HappyScans! site that Kazu's pc broke and basically Azumi is stuck.
This doesn't mean I'll stop translating. Scripts are getting provided on a regular basis,
so we can build a backlog and then when things are back to normal you should've a lot to read.
It might take some time though. In the meanwhile, enjoy your Adachi fix as usual.

The start of a (long) new adventure.
This is a 7 volume collection made of 2 long stories by Yamasaki/Adachi + 1 volume of Adachi's one-shots.
The collection was axed at v7 by the publisher, even though v7 is the first of an intended Adachi only collection starting from there. Do not worry, all the stories inside are complete.
As seen in Gamushara, Yuuhi yo nobore and so on, there is no chapter division, so I divided the volumes in parts where I saw fit...
Well, have a nice reading ;)

Post 68, Gamushara v01 Part 01
You can find the first part on Mangatraders.
So, first of all, this is not an Adachi manga...in full. It was drawn by him but on a story and texts by Yamasaki Juhzo (who?). Many of the older Adachi's works are done together with this guy...
Then, like Yuuhi yo nobore, this manga doesn't have a summary, table of contents...whatever. Nothing. Knowing where a chapter ends and another starts is not so simple. Sometimes it's obvious (I guess...), sometimes not. So, I decided to divide the story arbitrarily in parts, trying to cut them at reasonable points
so you won't have huge cliffhangers and so on. Maybe :)
v01 will be in 6 parts, v02 in 5 (3 for ending Gamushara + 2 big one-shots).
Enjoy.

And so it ends. Like that.
This was the second Adachi manga that I read, more than ten years ago (Touch was the first one).

Starting from next week, I'm gonna go back to a weekly schedule, keeping wednesday for Gamushara and future stuff.
On another note, I've also got Vagabond c318 for you.

Will it be an "Adachi ending"? You'll see!

Post 44, Azumi v01c01
Azumiv01c01.rar
So, it begins.
A new joint with HappyScans that will go on for years.
Azumi is a seinen manga, with feudal Japan as setting.
A group of children is raised up by a mysterious man
who trains them as assassins to have them carry out
missions in the "outside world" to thin down the enemies
of the Tokugawas.
Azumi is a mature story, with its light moments too, but
contains a lot of violence, blood, heads and limbs flying
and so on. Even sex scenes and a good amount of rape
in some cases. All of this it's not put there just for the hell
of it, if you actually read the story everything has got a
sense and a meaning. Just remember that it's not a story
for kids and some chapters are NSFW.
About the glossary: Azumi is a fictitious story set in a real
historical period with real historical figures of the past and
a lot of original characters. Since it can be a whole mess
for characters, places, names and so on, I decided to write
a glossary where you'll find every Japanese term you'll
encounter during the story, being it a name place, a character
name, some food name, a suffix and so on. It will grow chapter
by chapter. Much, much information is taken from Wikipedia
and more often than not I invite you to check it to have a ton of
more information about what you're reading. Please, if you find
errors, missing long vowels, hyperlinks that shouldn't been there,
formatting problems, different fonts and so on, tell me, I'll fix it.
Only remember that I'm at the beginning of volume 10 with reading
and doing the glossary, so actual changes will take a lot of time to
actually be reflected inside the pdf.

Post 43, Slow Step v05c39, Vagabond 317, announcements
First of all, the end of volume 5 is on Mangatraders.
Since at this pace it'll take forever to end it and I need to concentrate on other stuff too, I'll speed up the releases from next week with two chapters per week, one on Wednesdays and one on Fridays.
Vagabond 317 is here too.
The next chapter will be published on the third week of september, so be patient!!
The script of a new project with HappyScan! was sent.
I don't know if they'll announce the project later with the Vagabond release
or if they'll wait until the new project release is ready. This manga will be the end of me.
But don't worry, you'll still get your Adachi fixes.
Still no Last Order 123 raws, and today 124 should come out on Evening too.

Post 40, Fantasy World Jun Volume 2
Fantasy World Jun Volume 2
So, a splendid journey ends.
When Wrigh showed me Jun some time back in...May I think, I was struck by the art
and the experimental kind of story. It had so much beauty and atmosphere that I really
wanted to do it, so I started translating it bit by bit between my other projects. V1 was
relatively easy to do, but V2, as I think you already saw, had almost 60% of more text,
thanks to those pages where Ishinomori talks about a lot of interesting stuff and the "journey"
chapter. That's why it took so longer than V1 to do it. Ishinomori himself wanted to draw
a "poem", not a "manga" and I think it accomplished his goal. The only regret I have is
the quality of the translation itself. Being not an English native speaker is tough, sometimes :(
I would like to thank Wrigh for the opportunity he gave me with Jun and to thank
a1oner too, who I made go crazy with my script , for his patience.

Hi guys.
Today I've got two treats for you. The first, is the entire volume 1 of Fantasy World Jun, by Ishinomori Shoutarou. This was done in a joint with HappyScans. Volume 2 is currently under translation.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/dkjnw6e6pnfjkux/Fantasy+World+Jun+volume+1.rar
It's an experimental manga, very bizarre, where images speak loud, more then text.
Whatch every panel carefully, don't storm through the volume or you'll miss a lot of this "experience";)
The second treat is obviously a new Slow Step chapter. c33 is on Mangatraders.

On another note, a donation button has appeared on the right side. I wasn't planning this in the beginning but it's also true that I thought scanlations would have taken just a bit of my free time. Instead, they now take a big chunk out of it. So, if you have 1 or 2 bucks laying around and you don't really know what to do with them, feel free to chip in ;)

Idol A v01 c06 has been released, and for now it's the last chapter(who knows when or if volume 2 will ever come out...). You can find it on Mangatraders.
The volume contains even a one-shot collaboration between Adachi Mitsuru
and Takahashi Rumiko (of Urusei yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, Rinne fame...)
called My Sweet Sunday to celebrate the 50 years anniversary of the magazine where the two authors published almost, if not all, their works. It was translated years ago by the good guys at I Eat Manga and you can find that on Mangatraders too.
To it I've added the extra pages that where in the volume and renamed everything to be consistent with my releases (that were named to be consistent with chapters 1-3, IIRC). They used magazine raws at the time and you'll see the quality difference from the other stuff. Everything else is their fine work.
Seeing how the poll is going, I guess you'll read Slow Step next week, unless Gamushara makes a come from behind...

Hi guys. Today there should have been The Time Of Friendship short story.
When I checked the volumes of Yuuhi yo nobore!! on Mangatraders a while ago,
that short story wasn't there. I even checked online readers and so on, and it wasn't included.
Someone mistakenly called part 3 of Yuuhi v02, The Time of Friendship, but nothing more.
So, I went and done it. Now, djt2445 on Post 19 said it was done a while ago by
MangaDownloads, so I checked again and that short story was uploaded yesterday on
Mangatraders with a different title...
So, I won't release my subpar version of it.
That said, here is Idol A v01 c04.
I hope no one else has done this yet.
You can find it on Mangatraders.
Chapters 1-3 were done by some other guys and are on Mangafox, IIRC.

Here's the surprise I was teasing that coincides
with the secret project on the project page.
With help from HappyScans! and Crazyankan
I can present the new chapters of Vagabond to you.
You'll find #305 on their site http://happyscans.blogspot.it/
or in the usual places.
More chapters are coming, but since they're swarmed
by other projects and stuff to do IRL it will probabaly be
later than sooner.
On another note, HappyScans! has released Tezuka's
Shin Takarazima, a manga every manga reader out there should
know and read. Basically it's the cornerstone of manga
how we know it ;)

New release, Oira Houkago Wakadaishou v01 c06
you can get it on Mangatraders.
With this, volume 1 of Wakadaishou is complete.
Next friday I'll start with volume two (there are six chapters in total).
After that I'll release Idol A chapters 4, 5, 6 (the one shot at the end of the volume has been done already).
If you have raws of a decent quality for chapter 7 and on, please put a link in a comment. I don't even know if he has drawn other stuff for this manga.
See you, maybe with a surprise before the next release ;)

Release #02, Oira Houkago Wakadaishou v01 c04.
It's time to close some loose ends on old mangas from Maestro Adachi.
Chapters 01-03 were translated by DRAT some years ago.
You can find the new chapter on mangatraders.
And now, some curious stuff.
While reading another of Adachi/Yamasaki early days works
(Yuuhi yo nobore! by MangaDownloads,
http://www.mangadownloads.org/) and
translating something else that will see the light after
Wakadaishou, I noticed something really cool that
lit some light bulb in my head about something I had
forgotten. Yep, something.
Sometimes, Adachi uses real baseball players names
for inspiration for some of his characters or does puns
with their names putting inside kanjis that resemble or
anticipate the character true personality or one aspect of it
(like Ushirosugata and Arase in this chapter).
Mizue could have been inspired by idol and singer Takada Mizue.
Sakaki it's her surname, probably from Hanshin Tigers
Sakakibara Yoshiyuki at that time. The "sakaki" kanji is even the same.
Wakamatsu (Tsutomu) was another baseball player.
Kakefu (Masayuki) from "Isourou" too was a baseball player.
Even more, in that story we have four sisters and the golden combi
Yamauchi Momomi - Urami Tomokaku
(btw, "urami" means grudge, malice, resentment, regret...).
For those who found strange what Adachi wrote in a
panel saying that the story does not have any connections
with real talents and actors, well, keep reading.
The cool thing is that Yamaguchi Momoe (see the resemblance?)
was an actress, singer and idol who married Miura Tomokazu (see?)
her often costar. It doesn't end here though. In her early career
she was in a singer trio with Sakurada Junko and Mori Masako (!).
With her popularity rising up she could chose her songwriters.
One of her singles was written by Aki Youko (!) a songwriter,
actress, novelist and essayst. I bet that even the names for Hiroko
and Setsu were inspired by actresses or idols of the '70s...
Write down a comment if you know something about it, 'cause
like Chitanda would say, "ki ni narimasu!", and I haven't got an Oreki
around to help me.

Release #01, Isourou wa Tsurai yo (Being a Free-loader is Tough!) by Adachi Mitsuru.
Tomorrow is going to be Adachi's 62nd birthday so, why don't celebrate it with a 50 pages one-shot?
You can find it on mangatraders as Oira Houkago Wakadaishou v01 Extra.
